EDC meeting minutes 8-26-09 start 8pm

1) Meeting minutes are being compiled from May thru Aug. Loriwill send minutes for approval via email.
2) BoS meeting – reviewed website info and discussed preparation for meeting on Monday.
3) Energy Committee – Rita Avanti joined our meeting at 8:15 to give brief over view of the Energy Committee and it’s goals. Discussed the newly signed Green Communities Act (energy reform bill) by Gov Patrick. This new law promotes the development of renewable energy and stimulates the clean energy industry. Rita and her committee are looking at stimulus funds and trying to track energy consumption of town bldgs. Goals for Norfolk’s energy program… finding ways to lower consumption 10% as a community challenge. (Rita cited Medfield as being able to lower their energy consumption by 10%.) She also stated the Energy Committee is reviewing zoning and building codes in locations where wind power may be feasible.
4) 43D Program – A POC for developers inquiring about properties available for development in Norfolk is to be discussed with the BoS on 8/31/09.
Bob Bullock has re-packaged the 43D checklist and applicationsand should be scheduling a new review meeting in September.
5) Meeting dates for next month 9/14 and 9/29 at 8pm.
