SPRING 2010 STREET SWEEPING:
Over the next several weeks, the Department of Public Works will be sweeping the streets throughout town.  Fire hydrants will be utilized to fill the equipment during this process.  Should residents experience dirty water during this process, please follow the steps noted below:
Residents who experience rusty or dirty water should do the following:
1.  Flush water piping using COLD WATER ONLY from a bath tub faucet for approximately 15 minutes, then all other cold water fixtures in the house for 5 minutes.
2.  Check water before washing clothes.
3.  Check water prior to running dish washer
4.  Check water before using for cooking
5.  If WHITE clothes become discolored, “Iron Out” is available at the local hardware store and at the DPW Office between the hours of 8:00 AM – 3:30 PM
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause our water users.  We thank you for you patience and cooperation.

THE RTE 115 PROJECT IS SCHEDULED TO BEGIN:
Route 115 Transportation Improvement Project:
Norfolk, Wrentham & Foxboro
Pond Street/Pine Street/Turner Road

This long awaited reconstruction project has begun.  The contractor has mobilized his equipment during the month of March, and the project should commence in April 2010.   The project scope of work includes widening Route 115 to include sidewalks, bike lanes and installing a new traffic light at the intersection of Rte 115 and Rte 1A.

Project duration:  April 2010 through October 2011

Residents will be able to access their property

Traffic delays are to be expected  during the construction period

It may be necessary to reduce traffic to one lane at times

The bridge abutment is scheduled to be demolished in May 2010 and will require detours (long detour for large trucks and a short detour for cars)

We appreciate your patience during this project and we are available to assist you should you have additional questions.  Please do not hesitate to contact the Norfolk Department of Public Works Office at 508-528-4990.
