SPRING 2008 STREET SWEEPING:
Please be advised that the Department of Public Works, Highway Division began sweeping town streets the week of March 24, 2008. Hydrants are opened periodically as part of this function. Should residents experience rusty or dirty water during this process follow the steps noted below:
Residents who experience rusty or dirty water should do the following:
1. Flush water piping using COLD WATER ONLY from a bath tub faucet for approximately 15 minutes, then all other cold water fixtures in the house for 5 minutes.
2. Check water before washing clothes.
3. Check water prior to running dish washer
4. Check water before using for cooking
5. If WHITE clothes become discolored, “Iron Out” is available at the local hardware store and at the DPW Office between the hours of 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
