COMMUNITY PRESERVATION COMMITTEE
MAY 17, 2006
MINUTES

MEMBERS PRESENT: Paul Terrio, Jason Talerman, Betsy Pyne, Richard Connors, Tom Terpstra, Scott Dittrich

MEMBERS ABSENT: Cyndi Andrade, Andrea Langhauser, Kevin Hughes

Meeting called to order @ 7:20

Made copies of Preservation Restriction Agreement - distributed to members

NORFOLK GRANGE
Betsy review to Preservation Restriction Agreement.  She explained that there would be changes made.  Waiting on George Hall for exact wording.  Members did review Preservation Restriction as it was written.

TOWN POND
Kathleen Colleary was mentioned as a great resource regarding CPA/DOR Questions

Discussion focused around Town Pond.  Paul mentioned that the wording “Create and Preserve” could be used.  He also raised the question as to whether additional money should be requested for the Town Pond Project.  Butch Vito requested $85,000.00.  This figure does not include the funds required to bring the pond up to code for swimming.  Richard Connors feels that additional funds should be requested at a later date.  Conservation needs to determine if they will allow swimming.  There are a lot of issues that need to be ironed out.  Water quality is first and foremost.

Town Pond Swimming will be Article at Fall Town Meeting (August)

Conservation Commission wants to see letter of intent.  They need to look into the amount of use the Town Pond will receive?  The amount of residents using for swimming, fishing, and picnics?  Will the uses fit into the guidelines and the available space at Town Pond?

Will vote minutes of April 19, 2006, April 26, 2006, May 8, 2006 and May 17, 2006 @ Next Monthly Meeting Scheduled for June 21, 2006
