Meeting of the Norfolk Public Library Board of Trustees
January 15, 2009
A regular meeting of the Norfolk Public Library Board of Trustees was held on January 15, 2008 at the Norfolk Public Library. In attendance were Robin Glasser, Library Director; Sarina Bluhm, Associate Director, Kumkum Malik, Associate Trustee; and the following Trustees; Harvey Boulay, Mary Jo Gothorpe, and Kenneth Nelson.
Mary Jo Gothorpe called the meeting to order at 6.07 P.M.
Approval of Minutes
Approval of the meeting minutes for December 23, 2008 were VOTED.
Director’s Report
The new edition of the “Guide To Services” was mailed today.
The Norfolk Community League has moved to a once per year disbursement, so we must re-apply in March for funds for the mural restoration.
Associate Director’s Report
Sarina Bluhm reported on December circulation activity. There were 27 meeting room uses. Circulation for the month was 7,335 with 955 patron visits. The self-checkout percentage was 39% for December. It was noted that December is always the lowest activity month for the library.
Schoolhouse Room
Harvey Boulay reported that progress of construction continues.
Old Business
Mrs. Glasser reported that the FY 2010 budget was submitted on January 13.
Friends of the Library Report
Mary Jo Gothorpe reported that the Friends met on January 5 for their Annual Meeting and to continue preparing for the for the 2009 membership drive. Officers for 2009 are Mary Jo Gothorpe, President, Maureen Buck, Vice President, Beverly Baldoni, Secretary, Thayer Olson & Pat Brylinsky Co-treasurers, Beth Valee and Cathy Elder have agreed to co-chair the 2009 Book and Bake Sale.

Next Meeting
The next meeting is scheduled for February 19, 2009 at 6:00 P.M. at the Norfolk Public Library.
Adjournment
There being no further business it was moved and seconded and the Trustees VOTED to adjourn the meeting at 7:06 P.M. to inspect the schoolhouse room.
