Meeting of the Norfolk Public Library Board of Trustees
December 23, 2008
A regular meeting of the Norfolk Public Library Board of Trustees was held on December 23, 2008 at the Norfolk Public Library. In attendance were Robin Glasser, Library Director; Sarina Bluhm, Associate Director, KumKum Malik, Associate Trustee; and the following Trustees; Harvey Boulay & Mary Jo Gothorpe.
Mary Jo Gothorpe called the meeting to order at 6.05 P.M.
Approval of Minutes
Approval of the meeting minutes for November 20, 2008 were VOTED.
Meeting Room Request
The Trustees met with members of and discussed continuing use of the Meeting Room by the Providence Baptist Church. Adjustments to the digital projection system, which the Church had helped to install, were agreed to. The Trustees VOTED to schedule the Sunday morning use of the room by the Church for 2009.
Director’s Report
The new edition of the “Guide To Services” is at the printer, scheduled for Town-wide mailing in January.
Programs for January, February, and March were discussed.
The Norfolk Cultural Council has declined to fund the “Great Norfolk Read” program.
We are still waiting to hear from the Norfolk Community League about funding the mural restoration.
Associate Director’s Report
Sarina Bluhm reported on November circulation activity. There were 36 meeting room uses. Circulation for the month was 8592 with 1139 patron visits. The self-checkout percentage was 42% for November.
Schoolhouse Room
Harvey Boulay reported that a building permit has been issued. There was discussion of the proposed layout of the room.
Old Business
The Trustees and Mrs. Glasser continued their discussion of the FY 2010 budget. Guidelines from the Selectmen’s Office are awaited.
Friends of the Library Report
Mary Jo Gothorpe reported that the Friends continue preparing for the 2009 membership drive.

The next meeting is scheduled for January 15, 2009 at 6:00 P.M. at the Norfolk Public Library.
Adjournment
There being no further business it was moved and seconded and the Trustees VOTED to adjourn the meeting at 7:15 P.M.
