Meeting of the Norfolk Public Library Board of Trustees
July 28, 2005
A regular meeting of the Norfolk Public Library Board of Trustees was held on July 28, 2005 at 6:00 p.m. at the Norfolk Town Offices. In attendance were Robin Glasser, Library Director, Heather Pisani-Krystl, Associate Director, Mary Jo Gothorpe, President of the Friends of the Norfolk Library, and the following Trustees: Frances Holman, Harvey Boulay, and Kenneth Nelson.
The meeting was called to order at 6:10 p.m.
Director’s Report
Mrs. Glasser reported that the new move-in date was now September 26, 2005, assuming that a temporary Certificate of Occupancy could be obtained. Shelving installation has been moved to wait for installation of the pendant lighting. The library will be open to the public in late October.
Capital Campaign Report
Letters to obtain gifts for the Community Dedication Plaque are being prepared.
Friends Liaison
Mrs. Gothorpe reported on the Friends’ emergency meeting to review requests for additional funds. The requested funds were approved for: 1. Food and beverage vending services and for the public copier machine; 2. Purchase one of the trailers to store books for future sales for $2,500; 3. $15,000 for RFID system; 4. Food for DOC staff and inmates for moving materials back to Library; 5. Volunteer guides for opening weeks of new building.
New Business
The Trustees reviewed and discussed bid documents for the proposed RFID system.
Next Meeting
The next meeting is scheduled for Thursday, August 18, 2005 at 6:00 p.m. in the Town Offices.
Adjournment
There being no further business, it was moved and seconded and the Trustees VOTED to adjourn the meeting at 7:20 p.m.
