Board of Library Trustees
November 18, 2010
A regular meeting of the Norfolk Library Board of Trustees was held on November 18th, 2010 at the Library. In attendance were Robin Glasser, Director, Sarina Bluhm, Associate Director, Cathy Elder, Friends representative, and the following trustees: Harvey Boulay and Kenneth Nelson.
Mr. Boulay called the meeting to order at 6:10 p.m.
Director’s Report: Mrs. Glasser reported on the following;
- She will be taking vacation days during November.
- Funding has been received for the “Mother Goose on the Loose” program.
- Connie Jones is working with the Pondville facility to provide Sunday story hours for visiting families with children.
- The Town is projecting a revenue shortfall in the current fiscal year; Free Cash is being used to fill gaps and will be down to about $16,000 after transfers.
Associate Director’s Report
Ms. Bluhm reported on Library activity for October 2010.
- Self-check circulation was at 64%, with a one-day high of 75% .
- There were 43 meetings at the Library in October.
- Adult circulation is up, children’s circulation is down.
Friends Report
- The Friends are revising their by-laws, they were last revisited in 1996.
- They are planning a small book sale in the fall.
- They are in discussions with “Got Books” on priorities and procedures.
New Business
- The Director’s contract is still under review.
Next regular trustee meeting – December 16, 2010 at 6:00 p.m.
The meeting was adjourned at 7:00 p.m.
