SPECIAL MEETING
December 13, 2011
Present was James M. Tomaszewski, James C. Lehan, Robert J. Garrity, Jack Hathaway, Town Administrator and Marian Harrington, Executive Assistant.
John Neas, Chief Assessor was also present.
Jim Tomaszewski announced that this meeting would be audio and video taped. The meeting was held in Room 124, Town Hall.
Jim Tomaszewski opened the meeting at 1:00 p.m., and read the public hearing notice for the Tax Classification hearing.
John Neas handed out a copy of the power point that he reviewed with the Board. John explained the tax rate information. The proposed tax rate for 2012 is $16.47 per thousand.
Jack then reviewed a Tax Rate Impact spreadsheet. This shows all the exempt debt that we have. All the debt the Town has agreed to exclude from Proposition 2 ½.
John said we had over $5 million in new growth, which is partly due to the Village at Rivers Edge.
Jim Lehan moved to maintain a level tax rate in commercial and residential. Rob Garrity seconded and it was so voted.
At 2:00 p.m., Rob Garrity moved to adjourn the meeting. Jim Lehan seconded and it was so voted.
