Zoning Board of Appeals
Business Meeting of June 20, 2007

The duly posted meeting of the Zoning Board of Appeals convened at 7:30 p.m. in room 105C at the Norfolk Town Hall.
The first order of business was to reconvene the public hearing for Maple Sands Corporation at 7:30 p.m., Shady Tree Landscaping at 7:50 p.m., Hugo DiMartino at 7:55 p.m.,Pine Creek Development at 8:00 p.m., Sprint/Nextel at 9:25 p.m.
The Board deliberated and voted on the Nancy and Anthony Lancellotti Special Permit filing at 9:50 p.m. and the Donald Skerry request for a special permit at 10:05 p.m.
Reorganization:
The Board discussed reorganization of its officers. Mr. Simpson made the motion to appoint Lorraine Sweeney at Chairman, Martin Murphy as Vice-chairman and Robert Garrity as Clerk. Mr. Murphy seconded the motion. The vote on the motion was unanimous. Mr. Murphy will also be the assistant clerk and aid Mr. Garrity in the drafting of decisions.
It was noted that the Zoning Bylaw Study Committee will be meeting in July. Mrs. Flynn-Poppey had considered resigning from the Committee due to work commitments. Should that happen the Board will discuss who will be the designee from the Zoning Board of Appeals at their next meeting.
The Administrative Assistant reported that due to union requirements she will be required to reduce the number of hours supporting the Zoning Board of Appeals and will have to increase hours to the Conservation Commission from 16 to 20 hours. The members approved the reduction in hours with the provision that the clerk to the Administrative Assistant be appropriated 4 additional hours from 3 hours to 7 hours to accommodate the Board’s workload.
Mr. Garrity made the motion to close the meeting at 11:15 p.m. Mrs. Flynn-Poppey seconded the motion. The vote on the motion was unanimous.
