Affordable Housing Committee
Meeting Minutes
Date: March 28th, 2007
Present: Sarah Del Mastro, Bill Crump, Jeanette Wood, Dan Winslow
Absent: Steve McClain, Rob Garrity, Bill Crane,
Guests: Master Plan Sub Committee (Bob Nicodemus, Walter Byron, Lori Scholl) to discuss timing of forums.

Meeting called to order: by Sarah Del Mastro at 7:43pm, in Room 214, Town Hall
Business:
1. Discussion of PowerPoint presentation (previously distributed to the group):
The committee discussed details for the slides. The presentation is approximately 30 slides. The first half of the presentation is an introduction to affordable housing; the second half presents highlights of the plan.
A couple of slides will be added to the beginning to of the presentation to introduce the committee and it’s roles and responsibilities/direction.
2. Discussion with Master Plan Sub Committee:
Both the Master Plan Forum and the Affordable Housing Plan forum are on April 25th. It was agreed that the Master Plan Forum (Library) would be held at 7pm and the Affordable Housing Forum will be at 8pm (Room 124).
The Master Plan Sub Committee will attend the Affordable Housing meeting on April 11th to update and discuss on housing info for the Master Plan (time to be arranged).
Economic Development Committee will likely become be working on housing and affordable housing issues.
Databases from 1992 on vacant town land may be available from Bob Nicodemus.
Sarah will invite Selectmen to attend the April 11th meeting.
3. Continuation of PowerPoint presentation discussion:
Live call-in component was approved by the committee contingent upon the approval of the Board of Selectmen. Motion made by Bill Crump, seconded by Dan Winslow. Unanimous vote.
Bill Crump to provide the revisions of presentation to the committee prior to the April 11th meeting for final approval.
4. Press Release:
Sarah reviewed the edited issues in the press release to Matt McDonald at the Boomerang. Dan suggested that the release also be sent to the Sun Chronicle, Woonsocket Call, Milford Daily News, and the Country Gazette.
5. Affordable Housing Committee @ Housing Authority, April 3, 6:30pm
Sarah reminded the group that the committee is invited to attend the Housing Authority meeting this week to hear about a proposal that has some affordable housing content.
6. The video (on CD) of our CHAPA/DHCD April 14th informational meeting was given to Dan to review.
7. Sarah announced future meeting dates for 2nd and 4th Wednesday of each month from now to throughout the summer. It was suggested that committee members check their calendars and contact Sarah if they are unable to attend, so if a quorum is not available; the meeting can be postponed.

Meeting adjourned @ 9:32 pm. Motion made by Bill Crump, seconded by Dan Winslow, approved by unanimous vote.
